Hit by spam

Apr 21

I woke up this morning, and for some reason decided to look at my blog. I found ~500 new comments, all spam. Naturally, I went to delete them, but due to lack of consciousness deleted all comments.

Anyway, the point is – I need to move to another blogging platform. Here are some options:

  • WordPress – I hate the templating
  • Enki
  • Mephisto
  • MovableType
  • Tumblr

Any thoughts?

I use Word Press, but if you don’t like the way Templates work, it’s all up to you.

You need Akismet for spam - it’s now saved me from reviewing 105k spam comments since I installed it.

Shame you don’t like wordpress - awesome community to support you; smart and well thought out technology; gazillions of plugins. I’ve never created my own theme however, just tweaked, so can’t really say about the templating although compared to other CMS’s it’s funky.

    How about TextPress?

This is the TextPress development blog for a sneak preview and here is where you can get it.

wordpress isn’t all that bad - and there are heaps of themes out there you can pick (though must admit, never played around with its templating much).

I use wordpress+k2 (www.getk2.com) and that works quite nicely for me :)

Or maybe give typepad (http://www.typepad.com/) a go…haven’t used it before, but seen many good blogs using it, and have read good reviews about it.
